neither sony or M$ have any means to record every sale to a consumer. They report shipped numbers because that is all that affects their numbers and it's the only number that they know exactly.
Any reports of numbers sold to consumers would only be as accurate as VGChartz. Probably even less so because vgchartz probably shoots for the middle of the estima...
You won't really know till you try it. Even the guys who generally find it underwhelming in the review said it was fun and they were playing games that weren't designed with them as the target audience.
I could easily see it being fun with fun games, but kinect adventures and kinectimals wouldn't look that fun to me regardless of interface. Dance central for example looks like a blast to me.

It's been true for years. Look at car sales there if you don't believe it.
nobody would be able to drive it in any races of significance. You'd drive it for 30 minutes and be exhausted.

It's acceleration and top speed aren't that amazing for an F1 car. It's the cornering speed that makes it so fast. The generated downforce is ridiculous, so it can corner almost twice as fast as an F1 car.

they are too big. Do you know how long it would take to absorb an international company the size of Sony? Sony has a lot tied up in investments, and that's why their market cap is low. They are still an ENORMOUS company.
Apple COULD take them over, but it would be reasonably stupid of them to do so.
The most important thing to consider when looking at apple is that it just wouldn't make sense for them to take over a huge company.
If anything they should buy a bunch of smaller companies if they want to diversify.
Absorbing a huge company takes a lot of time. Sony is a lot bigger than apple, they are just worth less.
